New sponsors
In season 2008/2009 we will see some new sponsors associated with CWFC.
Last seasons sponsors of the ‘A’ Team – Travelcare, have been renamed and are trading as The Co-operative Travel.
The Cliffe Woods Community Association has dipped their hand in there pocket and paid for one of our pitch fees.
And under negotiation is another deal wit Magnet Trade, and of course we have RIP Cleaning Services.
We would like this opportunity to thank all sponsors, old and new. We could not survive without you. (We can’t rely on our members to pay their way). |

| 07/05/2008 - Important news |
|
Ok, so that’s that season over. Let’s start preparing for next season.
Despite what you may think, your managers do not think you are fit enough. So we won’t spend all summer eating and drinking and being lazy.
Pre Season training will commence Saturday 7th June at 2 o’clock (not 2.15 or 2.30) at Cliffe Woods Rec.
Players are reminded that under the new Club set up, pre season training is an important part of the preparation and will have an influence on the Managers Squad selections at the start of the season.
Also important
If you think you may be in line for an award on the presentation evening, just make sure you do not have any outstanding debts. You wouldn’t want to embarrass yourself in front of all your team mates by not receiving your trophy.
If you owe please see either your manager of Club Secretary before the 24th May. |

At last this season has produced some silverware for the trophy cabinet in the Club. The Tuesday night 5 a side team winning the Red triangle Civic Cup Final against Titans FC by 4 goals to 1.
With the Legend watching from the bar, due to an injury sustained on Tuesday against FC Quayside, Ricky Ellis had to take over in goal. A first half strike by John McDonagh was added to in the second period by two from Barry Kinnard and one from Danny McDonagh
Captain Kirby was fit enough to collect the Cup at the end (just to impress his new girlfriend)

CLIFFE WOODS FOOTBALL CLUB
END OF SEASON PRESENTATION
The end of season presentation for all 4 teams will be held at the Cliffe Woods Social Club on Saturday May 24th. The presentation of trophies will commence at 6 o’clock so please don’t be late or you may find yourself missing out. There will be a buffet afterwards.
Those wishing to stay afterwards and have a few beers are of course welcome. Those who wish to hit Rochester, which seems to be the trend, may do so and those who have other events to attend (like me & mo) can do that. |

|
All Over
Well that’s it, another season over. And as usual the first team were let down by players who can’t de bothered to pick up the phone and say they are not coming. Well guess what – don’t bother coming at all next season, you’ve had your chance.
Well done to those who were there and in particular to Sam Hunt and Dan Stears from the Reserves who helped out until half time while Malcolm and Joe we delayed.
Well done to stand in manager Kirby, who right now is at home in bed nursing a battered body.
Well done to the ‘old man’ Steve Ridden, are you sure your 41?
Well done to Deano. Club record for own goals.
And well done to Matt Keat, just piping Alfie Mabb by one goal when he put the penalty away.
Hard luck Reserves against Medway Knights going down 5-1. A little more respect for Mr. Milton please. He didn’t have to stand there in the pissing rain watching you lot.
Now all you people who owe money, you know who you are. As promised, your names have been sent to the League to be placed on the Debtors list. This will prevent you registering with any Club next Season (including Cliffe Woods) until your complete debt has been paid. This is the only way the League will accept you next season. |

| 29/04/2008 - End of Season |
|
End of season (and about time too)
As I am about to prepare all the equipment and kit for tonight’s matches, (our last of the season), I am, for the first time since the formation of Cliffe Woods FC, looking forward to the end of the season.
A season that started bright at the beginning fell away towards the middle and stayed that way.
We had a few good performances, we had a few bad performances and as usual we picked up along the way some time wasters and people we should have avoided.
If you leave at the end of the season owing money you will not be asked to join again next season.
So as I go into a nice long break through the summer having asked, demanded and begged some of you to please pay what you owe. This once again has fallen on deaf ears. Which makes me think I am wasting my time. So if any of you think that is the case, just say the word and all this s**t can be yours. |

TOTAL OWED |
£ 991.00 |
This is a total list of players that owe money to the Club, as you can see this is quite a large amount. If your name is on this list please settle your debt.
The very future of Cliffe Woods Football Club depends on this being paid.
The way things stand at the moment is, as I have been told that trophies are required at the end of the season, I have purchased them. This now means that Cliffe Woods Football Club as of 28.04.2008 does not have enough money to enter four teams into the League next season.
But this nothing new, in previous years I have had to pay all pre season expenses myself and recuperate the money at a later date. But due to my circumstances I am not in a position to do it again.
So unless the cash comes in, we may be ditching one or even two teams |
